New Project: Greening Private Enterprises in Kosovo

Berlin Economics is pleased to announce its collaboration with Helvetas on the Greening Private Enterprises in Kosovo (GPEK) project. Funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), the project aims to support enterprises in Kosovo’s private sector in transitioning to more sustainable business models.

In order to contribute to a more competitive, resilient, and environmentally responsible business ecosystem, the project will promote resource efficiency, renewable energy, circular economy approaches, and compliance with emerging environmental standard.

Drawing on our experience in private sector development and climate policy in Kosovo, Berlin Economics will provide analytical support to help drive the country’s green transition. Combining international and local expertise, we will assess Kosovo’s current policy and regulatory landscape for the green economy transition and evaluate the effectiveness of public-private dialogue mechanisms.

Our research will identify key gaps, barriers, and opportunities to enhance policy coherence, institutional coordination and stakeholder engagement, with a particular focus on small and medium-sized enterprises and underrepresented groups. The research findings will be integrated into the final project document, serving as a key deliverable for the GPEK project’s inception phase.
