German-Moldovan Agricultural Policy Dialogue (APD)

APD Moldova is a project of the Bilateral Cooperation Programme funded by the German Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Regional Identity (BMLEH). It supports Moldova’s Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry (MAIA) in aligning with EU agricultural standards, enhancing policy dialogue, and strengthening capacities for a successful EU integration.

APD Moldova facilitates the alignment of Moldova’s agricultural policies with the European Union’s standards through a three-year technical assistance project. By managing 27 activities related to the EU’s Common Agricultural Policy (CAP), Food Safety Standards, and Fisheries Policy (CPF), the project promotes knowledge sharing between EU member states and Moldova. Key services include policy analysis, capacity building, and fostering academic cooperation, with a focus on improving the Moldovan agricultural administration’s ability to implement EU laws and enhance sectoral governance. APD Moldova also organizes quarterly expert meetings and provides training to ensure the Moldovan agricultural sector is ready for EU integration.
