Berlin Economics at the Café Kyiv 2025
On 11 March 2025, Café Kyiv took place in Berlin. Berlin Economics was represented with two panel events.

Investment and Energy Security: Key Topics for Ukraine’s Future
Our panels focused on two fundamental pillars of Ukraine’s economic future: investment security and energy security. We were honored to welcome distinguished speakers, including:
- Investment Security Panel: Oliver Gierlichs, Inna Sovsun, Anna Kornyliuk, and State Secretary Udo Philipp
- Energy Security Panel: Roman Andarak, Inna Sovsun, Cyriac Massué, and Yulia Burmistenko
Representing Berlin Economics, Robert Kirchner and Rouven Stubbe contributed to the discussions on investment and energy security, respectively. We extend our gratitude to Stefan Kaegebein and Ralf Fuecks for their expert moderation and to the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung for organizing the event.
Ukraine’s Economic Challenges and Opportunities
This year’s Café Kyiv marks three years since the start of the war. Ukraine continues to endure significant challenges, including persistent attacks on its infrastructure, cities, and energy facilities. Our Ukrainian panelists provided firsthand insights into the realities on the ground.
The discussions underscored critical pathways for Ukraine’s economic resilience and growth:
- Investment Security: Ensuring credible security schemes, advancing European integration, and maintaining structural reforms will be essential to attract private investment and drive economic recovery.
- Energy Security: Ukraine requires continued international support to rebuild its energy infrastructure. Looking ahead, the country has the potential to become a central player in Europe’s energy landscape.
We were delighted to see such strong interest and engagement in our panels. Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to these vital discussions.
Berlin Economics remains committed to supporting Ukraine on its path toward economic stability and growth.
