Kosovo's first inclusive and voluntary Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs)

The project supported the Government of Kosovo in the development of its first voluntary Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC), setting out the country’s strategic climate mitigation and adaptation objectives in alignment with regional and international frameworks. Technical support included detailed scenario modelling using LEAP and Calliope platforms to assess emissions pathways, sectoral abatement potentials, and investment needs. The project team facilitated inter-ministerial coordination and stakeholder consultations, ensuring the integration of cross-sectoral mitigation and adaptation measures aligned with Kosovo’s NECP, despite its non-signatory status to the UNFCCC.
