Greening debt capital markets in the countries of Eastern Europe, Caucasus, and Central Asia

The aim of the project is to mobilise the capital markets for financing ecological and climate-friendly investments.

Within the project, the potential role of capital markets in mobilising green finance in seven EECCA countries (Ukraine, Belarus, Republic of Moldova, Georgia, Kazakhstan and Armenia) will be analysed in order to support environmentally sustainable growth in these countries and redirect capital flows and investments towards green and climate-friendly projects.

Analysis priorities within the project are:

  • Identifying barriers and opportunities for the introduction of green bonds in local capital markets in the selected EECCA countries.
  • Investigation of the policy framework for the development of the green bond market
